Sam RogersNatural Resources TeacherMy name is Samuel E. Rogers and I am the instructor for the Natural Resources program. I have worked here at CTE for 9 years and prior to this I was a Construction Operations Manager, Heavy Equipment Operator, I worked in Landscaping and Excavation, and I currently operate my own business. I went to SUNY Delhi for Landscape Construction as well as SUNY ESF where I received a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture. I have 16 years of experience in my field. What drew me to entering this field was that I felt that I needed a change. I had a strong desire to teach the next generation and expose them to jobs in this industry. College was a heavy push when I was in High School and I felt that working in the industry could be a better option for me. The best part about this program is that my students develop problem- solving skills. I have multiple certifications including OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid NYSDEC Stormwater & Erosion control, and numerous emergency service certifications. In my free time I like to participate in dirt modified racing, snowmobiling, hunting, and being outdoors.
