Amy Wolcott
RN,BSN
Health Occupations Teacher
Hi my name is Amy Wolcott! I’m the instructor for the Health Occupations 1 program. I’ve worked in CTE for 12 years and I have 16 years of experience in this field. I began my nursing career on a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) caring for post-operative cardiac patients. From there I went on to work at Crystal Run Healthcare as a Gastroenterology Nurse and Nurse Care Manager. In 2010 I began working at Sullivan BOCES as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor for Health Occupations. In 2012 I began teaching the Licensed Practical Nursing program. In 2019 I became a Health Occupations classroom instructor. I received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Corning Community College, a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Keuka College and my Teaching Certification from Cazenovia College.I was drawn to this field because my mom is a nurse and when I was a little girl, I went to work with her at the hospital helping residents at a long- term care facility. I enjoyed being with the patients and from then on I had a desire to help people. I knew very early on I wanted to be a nurse just like my mom. One of the greatest things in life is helping others in a time of great need. Health Occupations is all about professionalism, caring for others and learning about healthcare. In my free time I like to spend time with my family doing anything outdoors - four wheeling, snowmobiling, hiking, riding motorcycles and camping. A fun fact about me is that I love a good bargain - I love going to yard sales and thrift stores.

Peggy Schleiermacher
RN, BSN
Health Occupations Teacher
Hi my name is Peggy Schleiermacher and I’m the instructor for the Health Occupations 2 CNA program. Before I became a CTE instructor I was a Registered Nurse at Community General Hospital, now Garnett Health. I worked in Medical, Surgical and Intensive Care. I was also trained as a Critical Care Nurse and Oncology Nurse. I graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in 1977 with my BSN in Nursing. During my career, I also worked at Stony Brook University Hospital in the Neuro ICU and Kidney Transplant Unit, the Center for Discovery as an Early Intervention Nurse with babies ages 0 to 3, while being employed at the hospital. I was employed at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center as an Employee Health and Infection Control Nurse. I then began working here at CTE in the Health Occupations program while earning my NYS Teaching Certification. I was hired by Sullivan County Public Health during the Pandemic as a Contact Tracing Nurse after school and on weekends. I have been an American Health CPR instructor for over 20 years. I was also certified as an American Red Cross instructor for over 20 years and certified as an Infection Control Nurse. I have 45 years of experience in this field and 23 years in CTE. I was drawn to this field because of my love of caring for people in need. I always knew I was going to be a Nurse. The best part about my program is that it’s an excellent opportunity to learn about different Health Careers in actual Health Care settings during year one. During the second year, you can choose several options; one being the Certified Nurse Aide Program. You attend clinicals three- half days each week learning direct Patient Care. Clinical internships are at Garnett Health and in Long- Term Care settings in Sullivan County. Many students become certified in American Heart CPR and pass the New York State Nurses Aide Exam. Many also become employed at area Nursing Homes as a Certified Nursing Assistant at our local hospital. In my free time, I like to spend time with my two grandchildren. A fun fact about me is that I was a nurse at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.

Rosa Zweck
Teaching Assistant
Hi my name is Rosa Zweck and I’m the Teaching Assistant for both Health Occupations and Innovative Design. I have been working at BOCES for 27 years but have only been in CTE for a year. Previously I was a Teaching Assistant in the Special Education program. I went to Liberty High School and then I went to SUNY Sullivan. I was drawn to this field because I enjoy helping children. The best part of these programs that our students benefit from is the hands-on learning that they receive and the caring and knowledgeable staff that we have here. In my free time I like to cook, paint, watch movies and spend time with my family.
